Meet the team behind Patchway Studios – industry professionals with decades of experience in film, TV, and commercials.

Patchway Studios is managed by a team of film and TV industry veterans who know what it takes to deliver a smooth, successful production.

Our leadership and advisory board bring decades of combined experience, having worked on productions for Sony Pictures, Paramount+, ITVX, and BBC. We’re here to ensure every production large or small feels at home at Patchway Studios.

 

Sam Glover

Principal

Sam is responsible for SG Capital Partners’ investment in the film and television studios strategy. Sam has significant experience in investing in occupational and real estate assets. He is very excited about the potential of the film and television industry and the economic development opportunities for the South West region.

Sam was formerly an investment manager at Swiss investment firm Corvus Capital. He holds an MSc in Finance and has 30 years of investment and asset management experience.

Poppy Gordon-Clark

Industry Advisor

Poppy is a SW-based Supervising Location Manager with over 20 years’ experience. Poppy has substantial experience scouting locations, negotiating hires, contracts and arranging all associated logistics, and working with production executives, directors and producers at all stages.

Poppy frequently hosts site visits / location recces and meetings with multiple stakeholders and has been responsible for large teams across multiple sites sometimes working with over 100 people. Poppy is comfortable and confident liaising with local authorities and location representatives.

Poppy founded the South West Production Company, producing photography and commercial shoots for clients including Apple and Google.

James North

Industry Advisor

James is a BAFTA-nominated production designer working on high-end television productions for clients including Sky, Netflix, 20th Century Fox, HBO and the BBC. His work includes overseeing the entire design and build process from initial scripts through to filming, along with sourcing a team to support the project and managing a department.

James has worked in a huge number of film studios throughout the UK and around the world, giving an unparalleled insight into the functionality of these facilities. He has strong relationships with many production executives and has worked as a consultant on three recent studio developments. James is a fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Monty Till

Industry Advisor

Monty is a South West-based supervising location manager who has worked on productions for Netflix, Amazon and Disney.

Monty has substantial experience scouting locations, negotiating hires and contracts, budgeting and arranging all associated logistics. He has worked with production executives, directors and producers at all stages. He frequently hosts meetings with multiple stakeholders to set up complex location/based shoots and has provided productions with production space in the region for several years.

Monty has worked as a stills producer for US Vogue and on productions of all scales. He trained in Stage Management at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and produced several theatre productions before moving into television and film.

 
 

Zach Duthie

Business Development & Marketing Executive

Having previously worked in the production accounts department, Zach has supported clients including Amazon, ITV and Apple TV and is well-versed in navigating the world of film and HETV production.
In his role, Zach drives new business growth with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, Zach ensures a seamless process for clients and partners alike, fostering lasting relationships and success.
Passionate about creating a more inclusive and diverse industry Zach is a member of the Royal Television Society Futures Committee. As part of this work, he helps organise events offering career guidance, industry insights, and networking opportunities for the next generation of talent.

Su Hunter

Group Operations Director

Su is an operations and project manager with 30 years’ broad business experience within corporate and SME environments. Previously a human resource professional, Su became a specialist in outsourcing and provided advice to the IT and banking sectors for over 10 years.

Su currently manages the operations of the SG group of companies including Patchway Studios. She holds a BA (Hons) in Business and studied human resources via the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Laura Aviles

Strategy and Regional Growth

Laura’s career in film and television production spans over 35 years including the role of Head of Production at BBC Earth Productions, a subsidiary of BBC Worldwide. She has overseen delivery of multiple platform content including TV, feature film, giant screen, digital, VR and AR, and delivered the first feature film produced under the UK/China co-production treaty for global theatrical release.

Laura joined Bristol City Council in 2020 and, as Head of Film, led the management of The Bottle Yard Studios and Bristol Film Office, promoting Bristol as an outstanding filming location and ensuring the city could deliver a complete and consistent offer that encompassed studio filming at The Bottle Yard and the logistical support of Bristol Film Office for productions on location. During her tenure at the Bottle Yard the studios won the Sustainable Initiative Award at the Cannes 2023 Screen International Global Production Awards, and Bristol itself won the City of Film Award at the Cannes 2024 Global Production Awards. The Bottle Yard was also a finalist in the Studio of the Year category at the Cannes 2025 Awards ceremony.

Laura is passionate about the continued growth of film and television production in the West of England and the benefits this brings to the region and local crew. She has therefore now shifted her focus to work in an advisory capacity with Patchway Studios to the north of Bristol, increasing Patchway’s national and international profile and further strengthening the region’s offer to the industry.

India Glover

Marketing

India joined the family business in 2020. She manages the group’s marketing team, including traditional and digital specialists. India also works with SG Capital Partners’ professional consultants and design teams to develop and deliver real estate development and interior concepts.

India studied Modern Languages at University of Bristol, Interior Design at Chelsea College of Arts and Management and Leadership at Oxford Saïd Business School. She is also a Certified Digital Marketing Professional.
