Patchway Studios was proud to sponsor Sam Glover, rowing The Entrepreneur Ship across the Atlantic Ocean in the World’s Toughest Row 2023!
The World’s Toughest Row covers 3,000 miles of hot, fierce and diverse Atlantic ocean, racing from La Gomera in the Canary Islands across to the island of Antigua in the Caribbean Sea. The annual race begins in early December with teams of up to five rowers from around the world.
The teams battle sleep deprivation, salt sores, equipment technical challenges, and the mental impact of their own thoughts during weeks of solitude in the middle of the massive ocean. It’s a life-altering achievement that ushers in membership of a small community of fellow ocean-rowers.
Sam initially planned to row with a mate as a pair, but due to unforeseen circumstances found himself facing the prospect of rowing solo with just over a month to go until the start of the race.
In true Sam fashion he embraced the challenge wholeheartedly and proceeded to smash it out of the park, crossing the finish line on 24 January 2024 comfortably in first place for the solo rowers, with an amazing time of 42 days, 3 hours and 15 minutes!
