Studio Manager

Salary:

£45,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus scheme

Location: Located in the booming creative hotspot of Bristol, Patchway Studios sits within its own self-contained campus. We are ideally located close to many popular film locations in the South West AND only 1 hour outside of West London. Home to such productions as The Winter King and Crow Girl, Patchway Studios offers facilities suited to all forms of film production.

Patchway Studios is a film studio dedicated to providing fantastic and flexible facilities to a diverse range of media productions, such as commercials, HETV and feature films. We offer 3 stages, bespoke production offices, wardrobe, hair/make-up facilities for film and creative industries. Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Studio Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Patchway campus. The ideal candidate will be a highly organised professional with a proven background in film and TV studio management, marketing, and sales. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive the studio’s growth and success while maintaining the highest standards of service and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the studio, ensuring all facilities and equipment are well-maintained and fully operational.
  • Coordinate studio bookings and scheduling to maximise utilisation and efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor a team of studio staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety standards across all studio activities.
  • Ensure the studio’s resources, including equipment and studio spaces, are adequately maintained and ready for use.
  1. Marketing and Sales:
  • Understand, develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote Patchway Studios to potential clients and industry partners.
  • Leverage their extensive network of film and TV industry contacts to drive sales initiatives to attract new business and increase studio bookings.
  • Manage relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of promotional materials, including digital content, social media campaigns, and print advertising.
  1. Client Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and crew, providing exceptional service and support throughout their projects.
  • Address and resolve any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Facilitate client feedback sessions and incorporate suggestions to improve studio services.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the studio’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met and expenditures are controlled.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and clients to achieve favourable terms and maximise profitability.
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of the studio’s long-term strategic plan, aligning operational goals with overall business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance studio performance and client satisfaction.
  1. Technical Oversight:
  • Supervise the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of studio equipment.
  • Ensure all technical operations adhere to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Work with client productions to ensure their needs are met and

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, TV and Film, Media or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Over 5 years’ proven experience in studio management, within the film/TV or creative industries.
  • Strong background in marketing and sales, with a track record of driving business growth and achieving targets.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a studio setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of studio equipment and industry-standards.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the production process and challengers faced by producers, directors and their crews during the production process.
  • Strong administrative and sales skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
