South Gloucestershire
South Gloucestershire runs north and east of Bristol, between the Severn estuary and the Cotswold edge, with the M4 and M5 crossing it. South Gloucestershire Council lists Bridgerton, Rivals, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, The Winter King, The Gentlemen and Poldark among the productions it has hosted and supported.

A late 17th-century house with formal gardens and a deer park. Filming credits include Poldark, The Remains of the Day, Sanditon, The Pursuit of Love and Industry.
Badminton House & Estate
Badminton · Grade I house and estate
A Palladian house with Georgian interiors, set in an estate with farmland, woodland, tracks and its own airfield. Used in Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, The Gentlemen, 28 Days Later and The Other Bennet Sister, where the house played Pemberley.
Thornbury Castle
Thornbury · Tudor castle, now a hotel
A Grade I Tudor castle begun in 1511, with period interiors and grounds. Used in the BBC comedy Whites.
Horton Court

A Grade I manor house with a 12th-century Norman hall. It played Thomas Cromwell's study in Wolf Hall.
Acton Court

A Grade I Tudor house, part of it built in 1535 to receive Henry VIII. A regular location for BBC and ITV history documentaries.
Aerospace Bristol
Filton · former airfield
Historic hangars on the former Filton airfield, including the hangar that houses Concorde Alpha Foxtrot. The opening scene of Rivals was filmed there.
Avon Valley Railway
Bitton · heritage railway
A heritage line with a Victorian station, steam and diesel locomotives and 1950s carriages. Used in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
The Road to Nowhere
Yate · closed dual carriageway
About 400 metres of unused 1970s dual carriageway between fields, with room for a unit base. Booked through the council and used for Casualty and Boarders.
Sodbury Common & Abbotswood

Open common land and a 1960s housing estate with shops and garage blocks, both used in the BBC drama Rain Dogs.
Severn Beach & the Prince of Wales Bridge

The Severn foreshore, sea wall and the underside of the second Severn crossing, also used in Rain Dogs.
Lower Woods

About 280 hectares of ancient woodland managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, filmed for the BBC's Wild Isles.
